How do I put my child on the waiting list?
***Visit the New Starter tab on the website where you will be able to register for the classes you are interested in. Need to word this according to new website****
How long can I expect to be on the waiting list?
We regularly review our classes to ensure empty spaces are filled to ensure we can get everyone a place as soon as possible.
What does my child wear to Gymnastics?
For your child’s first sessions, all they need to wear is shorts/leggings and a t-shirt. Please make sure long hair is tied back.
Can my child wear earrings?
All earrings and jewellery must be removed by the start of the session, to comply with BG insurance requirements and ensure a safe environment. If earing studs cannot be removed, surgical tape must be placed over them before coming in to gym.
Can I watch my child whilst they are in gym?
We have two small viewing windows which can be accessed from the upstairs waiting area. You do not have to stay during the sessions.
Are your coaches qualified?
All staff are qualified to British Gymnastics recognised standards with all Coaches to a minimum of Level 1. There will always be a Level 2 (or above) coach in charge in the gym.
All senior staff are qualified in First Aid and undertake regular Safeguarding and Protecting Children training through approved training providers.
What is your ratio of coach to gymnast?
We apply a ratio of 1:8 except for your Reception and Year 1 classes where we apply a 1:6 ratio.
Can I drop my child off and pick them up from the car park?
Parents are reminded that the academy does not assume duty of care for a participant until they are registered into their class; with this in mind please do not leave your child unaccompanied before the start of their class.
Participants must not leave the premises without their parents/guardians and should remain with the coaches in the gym at the end of their session until collected.
Are all staff DBS checked?
It is a requirement by British Gymnastics that all staff have a current Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check. We ensure all our staff have current DBS certificates.
